MW Canada Printing
Printing can add that extra level to fabric with additional colour and design. There are several ways we can incorporate printing into fabrics to create specialized looks for your clients.
When heat is applied to a printing paper with a design created in dyes, the pattern is then transferred to the medium the printing paper is being held against.
Warp printing is an unusual way to use this process. The warp (yarn running in one direction that is interlaced with other yarn to create fabric) is printed before the fabric is woven. This creates a watercolour effect that is softly muted with no definite lines. The weaves can then take advantage of this to play the sheen and colours of the warp off of the solid looking fill yarn.
We can also print fabric which is already woven. Depending on the intricacy of the weaves used, the print can take centre stage, or the print and weaves can create a luxurious textile together. When we change the colour of the fabric we are printing, the resulting colours once printed can be spectacular as well.
We carry printed fabrics for all uses. Samples are available upon request.
